What causes scars?
In general terms, scarring, by means of the wound healing process, consists mainly of three phases.
Inflammation: In this phase, is where the hemostatic process and the acute inflammatory infiltrate occurs.
Proliferation: it is characterized by having fibroplasia granulation, wound contraction, and epithelialization. It can be said that at this stage is where the lost or damaged tissue is reproduced.
Remodeling: this is how the maturation phase of the scar is called.
How should I clean the area where KitosCell Gel PFD® will be applied?
Simply clean the application area with soap and plenty of water.
Are there any restrictions on the use of KitosCell Gel PFD®?
KitosCell Gel PFD® does not have any restrictions on its use. A thin layer on the affected area is enough.
What is the difference between a keloid and a hypertrophic scar?
A keloid is an irregular and bulged scar on the damaged area, with no evolution and may appear reddish or dark in color. A hypertrophic scar is a scar that occurs in the damaged area. It is swollen, red and painful. It usually tends to evolve in the weeks after the trauma and may continue for years.
In which kind of scars can I use KitosCell Gel PFD®?
In all types of scars. From scars caused by acne, to hypertrophic scars with many years of evolution.
Can I use KitosCell Gel PFD® in new scars, or just in old scars?
KitosCell Gel PFD® is a biomodulator, therefore it acts on all types of scars, regardless of time or damage.
Can I use KitosCell Gel PFD® in an open wound, to prevent the formation of a scar?
Yes. The quicker KitosCell Gel PFD®is applied, even better it will modulate the process
Can I use KitosCell Gel PFD® on all types of skin?
KitosCell Gel PFD® is designed to act regardless of color, exposure or skin type (sensitive, dry, greasy, etc.).
Can I expose myself to the sun during treatment with KitosCell Gel PFD®?
YYes. However it is advisable to wait for KitosCell Gel PFD® to be absorbed by the skin, otherwise you may use sunblock.
What is acne?
It is an inflammatory skin disease caused by a bacterial infection, due to changes in the pilosebaceous units (skin structures consisting of a hair follicle and associated sebaceous gland).
Can KitosCell Gel PFD® be used to treat acne?
Yes. Acne begins with a process of inflammation, which is inhibited and reversed by KitosCell Gel PFD® thus disappearing acne, and preventing future outbreaks.
Can KitosCell Gel PFD® stain clothes and /or skin?
It does not stain clothes nor skin, but may alter skin color by the effect of the sun after using the gel, so it is advisable to use a sunblock after applying KitosCell Gel PFD®
Does it change the application on new scars and / or old?
No. In both cases, the recommended use of KitosCell Gel PFD® is two to three times a day for six month periods.
How long does a treatment with KitosCell Gel PFD® last?
Will depend on the problem, its evolution, and the individual response of each person. What is worth mentioning is that, due to the high safety of KitosCell Gel PFD®, ®, it can be used indefinitely if so required.
How long will it take before I can see results?
It will mostly depend on the person and the injury. It can be effective within the first eight hours, or up to the first six months of its application, according to the performed clinical studies.
Does KitosCell Gel PFD® have side effects?
KitosCell Gel PFD® has no side effects, as revealed by clinical studies, however it is recommended to check any possible allergies to the ingredients of the product.

What are its side effects?
KitosCell Gel PFD®, has a broad safety profile. Studies show that there are no toxic effects when applied topically. These may rarely occur, as in any other topical product, as a small allergic reaction, itching or light burning sensation, which slowly disappear when reducing the number of applications for a few days.
How does it prevent the appearance of fibrotic scar tissue?
Due to its blocking or regulating activity, on profibrotic cytokines, it allows the modulation of fibrotic tissue, thereby avoiding these type of scars.
How do you apply KitosCell Gel PFD®?
Scar: clean the area according to your doctor's instructions and apply a thin layer on the scar, three times a day.
Acne: clean very well the affected area and apply a thin layer, two to three times a day. It is advisable to use a sunblock after each application or wait until the gel is dry before any exposure to the sun.
Ulcers: clean the area according to your doctor's instructions and apply mainly on the edges of the injury.
Where is KitosCell Gel PFD® developed?
KitosCell Gel PFD® is a product of Mexican origin, whose raw materials and formulation are developed in Mexico by Mexican researchers.
Who is CTT?

What is the difference with other silicone gels or patches?
Those products have an occlusive effect, that maintain the moisture and nutrients of the cells, but do not counteract the inflammatory action and fibrotic tissue deposition. Silicone studies have contradictory reports, with both good and bad results. Its action in old scars is very doubtful.
What is the difference with plant extracts?
Published studies show that these extracts, especially onion, have no real effect on wound healing, they are not effective for the treatment of scars.
Does KitosCell Gel PDF® prevent scarring?
No. KitosCell Gel PFD® modulates the release of profibrotic cytokines, maintaining a normal skin tissue repair activity.
If I want to prevent the occurrence of abnormal scars, when should I start using it?
In the case of burns, as early as possible, as disclosed by studies carried out in the prevention of the formation of abnormal scars and skin retraction. In surgery, we recommend to start its use as soon as the stitches are removed.
Given its action in TNF-α can it be used in the treatment of Psoriasis, Scleroderma, etc.?
There are no clinical studies on this specific issue but, due to its mechanism of action, it could help in the treatment of this disease, as well as others, where TNF-α is a key factor for their development.
Can I use it together with compression dressings on burned patients?
Yes, although there are no clinical studies with a combined use. KitosCell Gel PFD® has a different mechanism of action, and could aid the patient to prevent scarring in burns.
What is the difference against the use of topical steroids (Triamcinolone)?
Steroids have mainly an anti-inflammatory effect. Therefore, they may act on not very old scars, besides a great pain, since this kind of application is injected, and may cause side effects such as skin atrophy, hypopigmentation, telangiectasia, etc.
KitosCell Gel PFD® modulates pro-inflammatory and pro-fibrotic cytokines, in addition to its stimulatory action of the collagenase production, which is why it provides a more complete action and efficacy in the treatment of old scars.
Does KitosCell Gel PFD® cause skin irritation?
Studies performed in laboratory animals, purposely searching for this reaction, prove that there is no irritation when KitosCell Gel PFD® is applied, but a slight burning sensation and redness may occur, that lasts no longer than 10 minutes.
Does it cause allergies?
Like any medicine, KitosCell Gel PFD® may cause hypersensitivity in very rare occasions, which usually stops when the application is reduced to two or one per day for a while, and gradually returning to the three daily applications. Sometimes a skin rash or a temporary burning sensation may occur.
Does it work against stretch marks and / or wrinkles?
Stretch marks are a form of scars, where there is no accumulation of fibrosis. There are no studies on this subject, but its modulating mechanism of the cellular response may have an effect.
Does it work on acne scars?
Yes. In clinical studies with patients with scars caused by acne, demonstrated a good response to the treatment with KitosCell Gel PFD®.
